I created Healthy Endeavors as a venue for sharing my passion with others. It is my goal to help educate and empower the public about natural, self sufficient health methods. As a Traditional Naturopath, I believe that a person can heal naturally, when given the proper support. I earned a Bachelors of Natural Health Science degree and sought out additional education and training herbalism, homeopathy, aromatherapy, detoxification, mind/body immunity. I am continually integrating up-to-date health information as well as traditional wisdom and teachings. I began creating specialty blended herbal formulas as an answer to a need I saw cropping up within my own community and practice. Clients and friends were struggling to obtain quality herbals to assist in the the healing process. They were overwhelmed with the masses of products available. Often these herbal items would fail to preform as needed due to inferior quality, prolonged storage, or improper processing. So I started making my own custom blends to aid with some of the most common ailments (respiratory illness, digestive complaints, morning sickness, sluggish immune system, stress, and insomnia). The results were resoundingly positive. By using the freshest, highest quality herbs in simple organic teas and tinctures, people were finding relief. I personally hand blend each item in small batches to assure the correct mixture every time. (Some research has shown mixing large quantities, as in commercial assembly and production, makes for improper ratios of ingredients. Ex: first of the batch is 20% yarrow and 80% dandelion, last of the batch is 40% yarrow and 60% dandelion.) You might be surprised to find that these teas are not strictly for their medicinal properties. They are all quite pleasant tasting as well. Healthy Endeavors observes the three “R's”: reduce, recycle, reuse and even participated in formation of a local recycling organization. There is an emphasis on reuse in all steps of production. You are encouraged to return glass bottles and spray bottles for reuse. Packaging is either recycled or biodegradable when possible. Additional Information INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING MEDICINAL TEAS INFUSIONS To insure a quality infusion of tea use the following instructions. Infusions are teas made with herbal leaves stems, and flowers Heat water to a roiling boil. Add boiling hot water to tea. Use approximately 1 rounded teaspoon of tea to 1 cup of water Cover and let steep for 5-10 minutes for maximum medicinal benefits. Strain out used herbs. DECOCTIONS To make a decoction use the following guidelines Decoctions are tea that consist of root, bark, peels, and seeds. Use approximately 1 rounded teaspoon of tea to 1 cup of water Simmer on very low heat for 5 minutes for maximum medicinal benefits. Strain out used herbs. Use nonmetallic pots or cups to steep tea. Quart sized canning jars work well. Do NOT heat teas in microwaves. This kills all active healing chemicals in tea.
