Certified Organic 100% grass-fed lamb. About Us Lava Lake Ranch is located east of Carey, between the Pioneer Mountains, the Snake River Plateau, and Craters of the Moon National Monument. Here we raise 500 acres of organic hay for winter feeding, but this is just the epicenter of our operating area. Lava Lake sheep range from the deserts of the Snake River Plain south of the Ranch at roughly 3,000’ to the high peaks of the Boulder and Pioneer Mountains north of Sun Valley. A patchwork of public and private lands, totaling over 900,000 acres, provides our sheep with a natural mixture of wild, fragrant grasses, herbs, and other plants. Our lambs graze with their mothers and continue to drink mother’s milk all their lives.
