All Natural Produce - Walla Walla Sweet Onions, Cabbages, Scallions, Carrots, Beets, Swiss Chard About Us Sugar Loaf Farm is located in Jerome County, near the Jerome Butte. The three acre produce farm is owned and operated by Chad Thomason & Sarah Asher. In the fall of 2009, we purchased our property and in the spring of 2010, we joined Idaho's Bounty. After a first successful season, we expanded our farm to offer more produce for members to enjoy, as we exclusively sell to Idaho's Bounty members only! Being raised on a family farm, Chad grew potatoes and many other crops for years before venturing off on his own, growing produce with organic methods. He has always enjoyed farming & is excited about growing all-natural produce for Idaho's Bounty. We began farming to provide ourselves all natural produce to eat & always had an abundance of extra produce. We wanted to be involved in & know how our food was being grown. Our mission is to provide a top quality, all natural product while preserving the land it grew on. Browse through our Products for Sale Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) At Sugar Loaf Farm, our produce is grown using all natural methods. We do not use chemicals, pesticides, or sprays. We practice natural pest control, companion plant, and rotate our crops. We make our own compost to fertilize. We use heirloom varieties as much as possible when selecting our seeds. Hand weeding & hoeing our garden controls the weeds, somewhat. All of our produce is hand selected & bagged within 48 hours to ensure freshness. We select only the best quality of produce for your enjoyment and guarantee this. We care that your veggies keep longer & some of our produce will come with a little dirt on it. It's alright, we promise. If you are unhappy with any of our produce, please contact us. We try to minimize the packaging material that we use for the produce. All of the bagged produce has a biodegradable produce bag & twist tie. The used produce bags work great for a compost bin liner under the kitchen sink! Additional Information Is there something that you wish we grew? Please let us know, we are open to ideas and have room to expand! We welcome and appreciate any feedback. Please feel free to e-mail or call us with any questions or comments. We would like to hear about how we are doing and what produce you love! Highlights this Month Don't miss out on the Walla Walla Sweet Onions! These onions are large, sweet and mild. Perfect for fall soups, onion rings, or your favorite stir fry! These onions will store for several months in the refrigerator. The cabbages are at their prime, the frost improves their flavor! Our scallions are doing great this season and we have a couple varieties to choose from. Our carrots are great for juicing and we have a large 10 lb. bags to accommodate the most ambitious juicers or to store in your refrigerator for several months. |
